Blueberry Cacao + Tahini Protein Thick Shake (Dairy Free)

Here is a shake that will blow your mind but not your blood sugar levels! If you are like me and find you can’t shift body fat, try subbing your morning banana for an organic zucchini in your protein shakes! Sounds crazy, I know…but it’s actually really delicious! Throw in some natural sweetener + a dollop of unhulled tahini or peanut butter and your world will be transformed for ever! No blood sugar spikes or sugar cravings…this shake will fill you up for hours + it’s a great go to when you need a chocolate hit after dinner! So here it is…my very creamy, non banana choc protein thick shake recipe (try saying that fast).

Serves 2

1 cup of almond/coconut milk

2 servings of a plant based protein powder (I used organic Sun Warrior Plus)

Raw cacao powder to taste (I use 1 medium heaped teaspoon)

1/2 cup filtered water (eliminate for extra creaminess or use more milk)

1 medium organic zucchini – washed + frozen

1 generous spoonful of organic unhulled tahini or peanut butter

1 teaspoon Maca powder (optional)

Hemp seeds (optional)

1 tspn cacao nibs

Pinch of Himalayan pink salt

Organic stevia to taste (organic doesn’t have an aftertaste) or feel free to use a natural sweetener of your choice

Organic frozen blueberries

Place frozen blueberries into the bottom of a tumbler glass

Put everything else into a blender and blend until smooth and creamy (I use my Blendtec for this)

Pour the shake into the tumbler + serve immediately!

Be sure to keep some zucchinis in the freezer as this is also a great late night chocolate fix! Perfect for post weight training sessions too!

*I sometimes sub the zucchini for cucumber if I want a more refreshing summer shake (or there aren’t any zuch’s left + also add in some sweet tasting lettuce leaves like Oak, especially if you know you are in need of more greens!
