About

A city girl who packed up and moved from the beach (Bronte) to the country side on the outskirts of Sydney, Australia with my husband + a cat after my husband was diagnosed with cancer. We are both striving to find health+ fitness, happiness, prepare + cook amazing nutritious food with the occasional treat (of course) + then get back to managing our farm. My recipes are simple + nutritious and the pictures you see are the real deal. Recipes and meals that are prepared for my husband + self in our country home. No bells + whistles or fancy props. So if you like simple, easy, what you see is what you get, fuss free kind of food, then you have definitely found the right space here on my blog. I hope you enjoy my recipes and our journey with food + country living as much as we do. I’m off now to chase a husband,  some horses + some cats.

Amalie.

Hi loving your blog, Hope your hubby is on the mend. I had a chuckle when I saw the title Man flu. Yes I shall try the recipe. Love your photos of the Farm. I actually thought that you might be one of my friends as her name is amali too, and she is also into a lot of Herbal and organic recipes. But she lives in Sri Lanka, So obviously I have found another Amalie to keep in touch with. Which is ok. I had the dreaded c as well. I have written about it on my blog. Check it out if you get a chance. I love the tone on your blog. Nothing positive about getting cancer, however you cant beat it without the positive attitude.

    1. Hello Uma, thanks for stopping by! My husband is doing very well. I force feed him lots of healthy food, under protest. The tree change has been perfect for us both especially for the healing part of things. I’m glad you like my farm photo’s too.

Another Amalie, wow. I’ll have to check out her blog someday.
I’m so sorry to hear about your illness challenge. How are you going? I hope your ‘eff’d it up’! Glad you got a laugh about the man flu. It can be very entertaining. What do they say, “Mummy flu is a bit like man flu, but nobody gives a sh*t”!
      Take care of yourself! X

yes laughter is the secret. And a good dose, being busy where it doesn’t give you the chance to dwell on it with a feeling of why me. Why me? what about all the little kids then. Lately I am finding solace in writing. First step was writing about it. Because for me, it was not just the ailment but all the other family drama’s as well that bothered me. And I guess that’s what it is for most, not just one issue, there are many. But as we humans most of us are born with the attitude sink or swim.
